TempoCap, a growth equity venture capital firm specialising in technology and direct secondary transactions, is pleased to announce the addition of a new Venture Partner, Matthew Knowles, to the team.
Matt draws on a wealth of experience as the co-founder and former CEO of HiFX, a leading provider of international money transfer and global payment solutions for both corporate and private clients.
As HiFX CEO, Matt led the business through an MBO, three acquisitions as well as a successful trade sale in 2014 to Euronet (a NASDAQ listed global provider of electronic transaction processing solutions). HiFX grew to become one of the world’s largest non-bank providers of deliverable foreign exchange, operating across North America, Europe and Australasia with over a million transactions per year and more than $100m in annual revenue when Matt left the business in 2017.
“I am very happy to be joining the team at TempoCap,” said Matt. “My passion is growing businesses and this role allows me to work with a great variety of them – especially across European FinTech. These companies face many consistent challenges, from awareness to funding, and scalability to geographical expansion across multiple regulatory regimes. I am really looking forward to bringing my own experience to help the management teams we invest in.”
“Matt’s experience as an operator and business leader, his investment approach of helping entrepreneurs build successful companies, as well as his knowledge and connections across European FinTech, is exactly what we were looking for when we thought about expanding our UK presence,” said Olav Ostin, TempoCap Managing Partner. “We’ve wanted to add a Venture Partner for some time, and Matt was an obvious choice.”
