TempoCap, a growth equity venture capital firm specialising in technology and direct secondary transactions, is pleased to announce the addition of Adam Shepherd to the investment team. Adam joins as Investment Manager and will be based in TempoCap’s London office.

Adam draws on a wealth of experience from his time as an investor with early-stage European venture capital fund, Notion, and as a global macro trader and corporate financier with the energy company BP, where he began his career. Adam has also enjoyed his own entrepreneurial journey in both the hospitality sector and as a fundraiser for FinTech businesses, including pioneering global payment platform Currencycloud.

As an investor at Notion, Adam spent several years sourcing, executing and developing investments in fast-growing early-stage companies across Europe, while building a specialism for software-as-a-service businesses. Prior to joining Notion, Adam helped Currencycloud raise $18 million in a Series C investment round, led by Sapphire Ventures and Rakuten.

“I am delighted to join the TempoCap team,” said Adam. “There is a long history of entrepreneurship in my family, and it means a lot to me to continue supporting the best entrepreneurs across Europe as they build great, long-lasting businesses, while also helping to address the lack of liquidity in the European venture capital ecosystem through TempoCap’s differentiated strategy of specialising in secondary transactions.”

“Adam’s experience working with high-growth startups, both from the inside and as an investor, his ability to find compelling investment opportunities and build strong connections with founders, as well as his capacity to decode the complex at speed, are exactly what we were looking for,” said Olav Ostin, TempoCap Managing Partner.

Adam’s biography is on the TempoCap Team page here.
