Olav Ostin

Olav is Managing Partner of TempoCap and has been active in the venture capital industry for the past 17 years. In 2006, Olav co-founded TempoCap which was part of the Draper Venture Network from 2012 to 2016. Since its formation, TempoCap has acquired 10 portfolios of assets and closed multiple single assets transactions.

Between 2000 and 2004, Olav was a Managing Director of venture capital firm ETF Group and previously spent 6 years in investment banking at Enskilda Securities. Olav was educated at EM Lyon, France.

Matthew Knowles

Matt joined TempoCap in 2017 following 19 years running HiFX, a global leader in digital international payments.  He co-founded the business in 1998 and built the business up to be one of the largest non-bank players globally. In his time as CEO, Matt led the business through an MBO, 3 separate acquisitions (including the acquisition of XE) and the ultimate sale of HiFX in 2014 for $250m to Euronet Inc (Nasdaq: EEFT).

Matt’s move into the venture capital industry is driven by his passion to help build great businesses. Matt studied Accountancy and Law at Kingston University.

Pierre Suhrcke

Pierre’s extensive private equity background and experience in working with company management teams brings great value to the TempoCap portfolio. Pierre sector strengths are in financial services, fintech and insurtech, as well as data analytics and AI.

Before joining TempoCap, Pierre served as the European General Partner of ABS ventures, a secondary buy-out of Deutsche Bank’s venture business (80 companies), and managed 3 vintages to a successful exit. Prior to this Pierre spent 17 years at Deutsche Bank London and Frankfurt notably as the Global Head of Risk Management and Managing Director of the Venture Business.  Pierre Suhrcke has been on the board of over 20 successful companies in the US and Europe. Among them RiskMetrics, the global leader in Financial Risk Analytics, Trema the leading risk and treasury management company and Adeptra the global market leader in credit card fraud.

Damien Henault

Damien joined TempoCap in 2019 bringing more than two decades of international experience as technology investor, M&A advisor, Strategy & Corporate Development executive and entrepreneur. Damien has executed over $250 billion in M&A, IPOs and financing transactions with both start-ups and Global Fortune 500 companies.

Before TempoCap, Damien was a partner at early-stage venture capital firm Andurance Ventures, focusing on Enterprise Cloud (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS), Business Intelligence, Analytics and Cybersecurity. Prior to returning to London from San Francisco, Damien was from 2004 to 2013, Director of Strategy & Corporate Development at Hewlett-Packard, in the Silicon Valley. Between 1997 and 2004 Damien was a Technology, Media and Telecom M&A investment banker at J.P. Morgan, in London. Previously, he founded an IT Services firm in Paris and an Internet Services Provider in Montreal.

Damien holds degrees in Philosophy and Economics from Sorbonne University and a MSc in Finance from Institut d’Etudes Politiques (IEP) in Paris.

Adam Shepherd

Adam joined TempoCap in 2017 from early-stage venture firm Notion Capital, where he focused on direct investments in B2B software companies.

Prior to joining Notion, Adam helped a fintech business raise a series-C financing round from a group of international investors, and worked with a number of other early-stage businesses – as well as establishing a successful Mexican street food business in his spare time.

Adam started his career at BP, negotiating financing and structuring M&A transactions, as well as working for several years as a global macro trader and strategist in financial markets. Adam holds a BSc honours in Politics & Philosophy from the University of Bristol.

Philipp Meindl

Philipp joined TempoCap in 2019 from Arkera, a VC-backed fintech startup in the capital market data space, where as Head of Strategy he drove the enterprise adoption of the platform and executed strategic growth initiatives.

Philipp started his career in technology investment banking at Torch Partners, where he spent 4+ years raising capital for some of Europe’s most successful technology and internet businesses as well as advising corporates and financial sponsors on M&A transactions.

Philipp holds a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Regensburg and an MSc in Finance from EADA Business School.

David Tate

David is a Venture Partner of TempoCap. He was previously a Managing Partner of Tempo Capital Partners LLP which he co-founded with Olav Ostin in 2006.

David was previously the Head of Investments and an Executive Director at WestLB Panmure, and prior to this spent over 15 years in investment banking with BZW and WestLB. His initial experience was in management consultancy with Deloitte. David is a chartered accountant and was educated at Jesus College, Oxford, University College London, and has completed the AMP at INSEAD.

Monique Augias

Monique joined TempoCap in 2018.

She manages all aspects of the TempoCap reception, event management, and supports the TempoCap investment team on a daily basis.
